Agathamudi grew up in a farming family in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, where agriculture was the primary source of livelihood for both his father and grandfather. He has seen first-hand how unreliable farming is as a source of income, and the difficulties his family has had to shoulder because of it. Today, the family owes Rs 15 lakh in debt, borrowed to meet severe hardships: supporting a paralysed grandmother and an elderly grandfather, alongside the mounting education expenses of two siblings.

Then both brothers were selected for the JNV school system. Interested in automobiles, mechanics, and artificial intelligence, Agathamudi was clear about two things: first, to secure a seat at one of India's top engineering institutes; and second, to build a stable career that could give his family a regular and reliable income.

Agathamudi had a clear vision and drive but lacked the resources to shape his journey. After learning about Avanti from his seniors, he joined the programme, gaining access to mentorship and resources that strengthened his JEE preparation.
