Program Management

The Mentor Trainers, experts from DIET in Science and Mathematics, selected and nominated were oriented in April 2017 to provide on-ground support to teachers. They began their school visits from July to interact with Principals and teachers to initiate the program. The mentors visit their assigned schools twice a month to identify and resolve the on-ground challenges.

  • →     Transforming Classrooms into Smart Classes
  • →    The mentors helped in setting up the room for best audio-visual quality and class timings during which the teachers can conduct classes.
  • →     Mentors conducted in-school pedagogical sessions and training to ensure a smooth transition to peer learning pedagogy.

Assessment

  • →     Baseline, Midline and Endline Assessments will be conducted throughout the academic year to measure learning improvements.
  • →     More than 5000 students of Class IX in Model Schools were tested on Class VII-VIII syllabus of Science and Mathematics.
  • →     One day orientation was conducted for over 130 Block level Resource Persons in Panchkula Headquarters on the process of assessments.

In 2017, Avanti successfully trained the SCERT and DIET in the Government of Haryana to take on the implementation and monitoring work for a 59-school pilot and this gives us confidence that a similar train-the-trainer model could be implemented for other organizations as well.
