In collaboration with the Central Tibetan Authority and under the aegis of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Avanti Fellows has established three peer-learning centers at Tibetan schools (TCV Selakui, THF School and CST Mundgod). The project was conceived in May 2012, with the ultimate intention to educate and empower the next generation of Tibetan leaders.
Like at our other centres, students will gain conceptual mastery of physics, chemistry and math as well as strong quantitative problem solving skills. At our CST Mundgod and TCV Selakui centres, we also work with several students who will go on to pursue medical degrees in college. We currently serve 97 Tibetan students across our three centres; next year we expect this number to more than double.
Taylor manages Avanti’s public school work in North India and leads our programs helping high-potential students study at top US and Canadian universities. Before Avanti, Taylor worked at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in Delhi. Taylor graduated from Yale University in 2012, having majored in Environmental Studies. At Yale, Taylor was a Head Freshman Counselor, an elementary school tutor and a member of the varsity fencing team.
